The heat is on.

Whether Jordan Love plays or not, Green Bay is getting Detroit at the worst time. Detroit has won 5 straight, averaging 38.4 points per game and a +98 point differential. Green Bay is playing well also, having won 6 of their last 7, but they're not playing that well.

This will be a good test for a much-improved Green Bay defense. One area the Green Bay defense has been leaky is against the run, allowing 4.3 yards per rush on average during their 4-game winning streak. Detroit, meanwhile, is averaging 5.3 yards per rush in their last 4.

If Green Bay is to win this game they need to clamp down on the run and keep Detroit under 30 points. Minnesota showed it's possible, they held Detroit to 31 points in a 31-29 loss. Green Bay's offense averages 27 points a game, good for 6th in the NFL, they can score 30 in this game to give themselves a chance to win, but the defense has to do it's job.

Pound for pound these teams are pretty even, but right now Detroit holds the edge based on how well they're playing. It's tough to beat a team that's clicking on all cylinders and playing mistake-free football, which is why teams getting hot like this doesn't happen often and doesn't last long.

Detroit is peaking early, but nevertheless Green Bay is going to have its hands full with these Lions, and I fully expect Detroit to keep on rolling.

Pick: Detroit, 32-28
