The Maple Leafs are coming off back to back thrashings at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues, getting outscored a combined 11-3 in games they were heavily favored to win. Coach Craig Berube was caught on camera ripping into his top line stars Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews on the bench.

On the other side, the Bruins come in riding a 3-game losing streak having been outscored -- coincidentally enough -- 11-3 combined by Utah, Nashville, and Dallas. Coach Jim Montgomery, like Berube, was caught on camera tearing into Brad Marchand on the bench after a turnover that led to a goal against, leading to Marchand making comments days later to reporters downplaying the incident and defending his coach.

How lucky we are that we get these two matched up at the absolute perfect time, it's going to be a bloodbath.

The silver lining for these two teams is there are no ties in hockey, someone's gotta win. I think the Leafs just had a couple of rough games, maybe some early season struggles as they adapt to the new coaching schemes. Boston meanwhile seems fundamentally broken, at least for now. That doesn't mean they can't get it turned around at some point, and they probably will, but quite often you don't see struggling teams just flip a switch and fix it overnight when they're playing as poorly across the board as they are.

Pick: Maple Leafs, ML (-115)
