FIVE

Unless he's 100%, Pack should hold Jordan Love out through the bye to get as healthy as possible for the final 8 games

I know I know, it's division-leading Detroit and the NFC North division race is as close as we could've imagined. The reality, though, is this is one game in a 17-game season. It doesn't define your season, it certainly doesn't make nor break it. You know what does make or break it? Having your franchise QB healthy (or as healthy as possible) for the remaining 8 games as you make a push for the playoffs.

After Detroit, Green Bay will have 4 divisional games left (CHI twice, @ DET @ MIN), plus 4 other non-divisional games against teams currently at .500 or less (SF, MIA, SEA, and NO). The season is a marathon, not a sprint. A healthy Jordan Love gives you the best chance to come out of those 8 games with enough wins to clinch a playoff spot, whether that be from winning the NFC North or the Wild Card. Then you roll into the playoffs healthy, and ideally, playing well.

The worst thing you can do is put a compromised Jordan Love out there against Detroit to not only lose, but potentially aggravate the injury further and now risk him not being healthy for the second half of the season.

Malik Willis has shown to be a capable back up, and the Pack offense can function with him at QB. The defense is a top 10 unit and ascending. Detroit is playing as well as anybody right now, having scored 172 points in their last 4 games (43 PPG average) and outscoring opponents by 91 points. Yowza. Detroit is coming in hot, and not many teams are able to slow them down right now. This is a bad time to match up with Detroit, Jordan Love or no Jordan Love. Keep Love out and get healthy for the second half, then beat Detroit when it counts -- in January.
