Johnny Manziel appeared on the Nightcap Podcast alongside Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco, and declared his eternal hatred for Cleveland. Manziel said: "I think I'm going to be pissed at them and hate them forever. So, it is what it is. No love for the Browns, I'm rooting for 0-16 seasons every season."

(Clearly he meant 0-17, but anyway...)

As expected, football fans everywhere took this literally and seriously, impulsively logging online to rage post their own personal and professional hatred of Money Manziel:
"Hates the team that gave his dumbass a shot to be in the NFL? Guy is still a worthless loser. I’m glad he didn’t work out in the NFL, because he is a piece of shit human."
"TRENDING: Fromer #Browns Johnny Manziel is a bitter drug addict loser."
"Nobody gave a shit about Johnny Manziel when he was in Cleveland. Nobody gave a shit about Johnny Manziel when he left Cleveland. Fuck him."

It just goes on and on like that. Johnny smartly set the bait, and the world's best and brightest football fans took the bait hook, line, and sinker.

What these people clearly don't understand is that Johnny Manziel hosts a podcast now (Glory Daze), he's essentially a member of the media who profits off your clicks and engagement. The more you talk about him, the more people watch his podcast, the more money he's going to make. By simply going out to social media to trash him, you're actually boosting his profile and giving him exactly what he wants. Judging by all the posts online about his hating the Browns, I'd say he's got you all in the palm of his hand already.

Full disclosure: I have always been a Money Manziel fan, I don't know why. Maybe I saw a guy that everyone loved to hate. Maybe I saw a little piece of myself in him (not the drug abuse part, but rather the part about being super talented at something that everyone expects you to do, but that you actually hate and makes you miserable).

Be that as it may, I hope Johnny continues to stoke the fires and throws more red meat to the unsuspecting football fan base for our enjoyment. He's a natural.
