Tom Brady: Ball Knower.

During an interview with CBS' Cris Collinsworth, Tom Brady, the GOAT himself, gave the highest of praise to my man Aaron Rodgers. He said: "He's a winner. And I think what I've always appreciated about him, and what everybody does, is his ability to throw a football and pass it. In his prime, to me, he's the greatest thrower of the football the League's ever seen ... he could get the ball from point A to [point] B, faster and more accurate than any player I think in the history of the NFL."

Correct, on all counts.

Lots of big-brained NFL fans on the internet will call Rodgers "overrated", "overhyped", etc. He's overrated in the sense that he only won 1 Super Bowl (only ever appeared in 1, also), but his talent was undeniable and palpable. He jumped off the page. Every time he touched the football you knew he was going to dazzle you, you just didn't know in what way.

I will never forget some of the playoff magic he provided us, i.e.: the sideline throw to Jared Cook against Dallas to position the Packers for a game-winning field goal to send them to the NFC Championship Game, or the comeback drive against Arizona to give the Pack a chance to win in OT. The guy was just incredible and could carry a team on his back like none other.

Tom Brady, of course, is the complete opposite of Aaron Rodgers. Tom Brady wasn't super physically gifted, he didn't have a huge arm (of course he was amazingly talented, also), but what he did have was ALL of the intangible things: leadership, galvanizing a team to rally around each other, and most of all: winning. This is what Rodgers lacked. While he was exceptionally gifted with arm strength, accuracy, football IQ, etc., he was deficient in all the things that were conducive to winning year in and year out.

I am a big fan of both players, despite it all. TB12 is already cemented as the best QB of all time, and Rodgers, hopefully will overcome all of his off-field antics to be recognized up there among the greatest to ever do it -- where he truly belongs.
